The Montana Berry Growers Association conference moves to a new town each March and welcomes everyone from hobby growers to commercial producers to people who have not planted a single bush yet. Speakers cover growing, harvesting, processing, and selling cold-hardy berries: haskaps, aronia, currants, saskatoons, elderberries, dwarf sour cherries, and more.

The last two conferences were held jointly with the Montana Grape and Wine Association, with a People's Choice wine tasting and a wine pairing dinner alongside the berry sessions. The 2027 format has not been announced.

For herbalists, this is a working room full of people who grow elderberry, aronia, and black currant at scale in Montana's climate. Good contacts for sourcing and for growing your own.
