How the suggestion box works

Is the suggestion box anonymous?

Yes. The form has no name or email field and needs no login. Only your text and the date are saved.

Will I get a reply?

No. Anonymous messages can't be answered, so for anything that needs a response, use the contact page.

Can I ask about a personal health topic?

I'm a clinical herbalist, not a doctor, so I can't give medical advice. You are welcome to request a topic that matters to you, and I will consider writing about it. Each article is written for a general audience from an educational perspective, and nothing in it is medical advice for your situation. Send the topic only and leave out your personal medical details.

How are topics chosen?

I pick topics that are relevant to many readers, and I remove any personal details (if applicable) from a suggestion before writing. Every article is written for a general audience, so it never addresses the person who sent the request or describes their situation. Sending a suggestion is free.

Where do requested topics show up?

Most are published on the articles page. Some go to my Substack, Deep Roots with Ivy, which is free to read.

Why do some topics go to Substack?

Google applies stricter quality standards to health topics, a category it calls Your Money or Your Life (YMYL). Pages that fall outside those standards can be rated Low or Lowest quality and treated as untrustworthy, and Google's ranking systems are designed to show those pages less. Topics that don't fit within those standards are published on Deep Roots with Ivy instead.
