Where to Buy Raw Milk in Huntersville, NC
Are you local to Huntersville/Mooresville NC?
Well I am too! I wanted to share the local establishments that sell raw milk so you can more easefully access this potent superfood. If you’re new to the health benefits of raw milk, check out my article about it to get the full details and learn about the history of raw milk and why it’s been unfairly demonized in our modern context:
Anyway, here are the places I know of locally that sell raw pet milk. Most of these local small businesses tend to buy just enough raw milk, so if you’re looking to get some (especially on a regular basis), I highly recommend calling them ahead of time and asking if they can set aside a jug for you, or order extra in your name that you will pick up after it’s delivered.

Protect Our Access to Raw Milk
Raw milk is not available for purchase at normal grocery stores due to legal limitations from the state of NC. This year, North Carolina lawmakers had a bill seeking to repeal the legal sale of raw milk entirely. We were able to protect herdshares, but raw “pet milk” is now possibly on the chopping block.
It’s a great time to email and call your representatives to let them know you stand with food freedom! Here’s a sample email you can send:
Dear {Representative},
I am a proud supporter of raw milk and the small farms that provide it. I urge you to oppose the raw milk ban in the 2025 Farm Act. Raw milk is a safe, wholesome food that is full of nutrients that support my health and the financial stability of local farmers. Banning it would harm food sovereignty and the livelihoods of family farms in North Carolina. Please fight on our behalf to protect food freedom and keep raw milk legal in North Carolina.
If you'd like some more information (including studies showing raw milks comparative benefits, historical information about why raw milk was demonized in the past and how it is now far safer, and relative comparisons of safety to other foods like lettuce, all with sources cited) please read this article:
Here are some quick facts about raw milk summarized from the article:
More people get sick from lettuce and deli meat than raw milk every year, yet we don't ever hear about those foods being banned for commercial sale.
Problems in the past with safety of raw milk were largely due to the living conditions, and health of the animals and also the fact that we did not have refrigeration. We no longer feed cows spent grains from making alcohol, and are given clean water and living conditions. Hygiene standards are in place and milk is refrigerated immediately.
Pasteurization does kill off gut-healthy probiotic organisms, heat-sensitive vitamins and nutrients and also destroys fat molecules in milk that are beneficial. Replacing these destroyed vitamins with synthetic versions is not the same, and does not account for the loss in probiotics.
Large epidemiological studies consistently find lower rates of asthma and allergy in raw milk consumers compared with those who consume pasteurized.
A 2020 dietary intervention study published in Nutrients examined people who switched to farm-fresh unpasteurized dairy for 12 weeks. The results showed a significant increase in the gut population of Lactobacillus (a beneficial genus of probiotic bacteria) in those consuming raw milk and raw dairy products. No such change was seen with pasteurized dairy.
Thank you so much for your time in reading this email. I am hopeful that you will work to preserve our freedom of choice in our food sources. In this era of waning trust in our government, it's important to legally recognize that we are all adults, and can educate ourselves and choose what we want to nourish our bodies with. I hope you can advocate for food freedom on our behalf.
Sincerely,
{Your Name}
