Farm to Fabric: Montana Fibershed's Fall Gathering
Format: In person, hands-on
Where: Saturday at Bon Ton Mill, 521 E Peach St, Bozeman, Montana 59715. Sunday workshops meet at a separate location near Bozeman, shared with registrants.
When: Saturday, September 26, 2026, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday, September 27, 2026, ending at 1:00 PM Mountain. Workshop attendees begin gathering at 8:30 AM Saturday.
Registration: Advance tickets required for all workshops. Sales end Friday, September 25 at 1:00 PM. The Saturday marketplace and fiber demonstrations are free and open to the public, no ticket needed.
Cost: Saturday all-day workshops (Flax Processing or Wool Fiber Preparation) are $115 each. Sunday spinning workshops (Spin Long Draw or Spin Flax on a Wheel) are $65 each. A small ticket service fee applies.
Montana Fibershed's fall gathering brings fiber growers, spinners, weavers, and makers together in Bozeman for two days of skill building around locally grown fiber. The goal is to develop the specific skills it takes to create your own fiber piece from Montana-raised materials, and to build friendships within the state's fibershed community.
Saturday offers a choice of two full-day workshops. Flax Processing covers taking flax from harvested plant to spinnable fiber. Wool Fiber Preparation covers washing, picking, carding, and combing raw wool for spinning. Both are open to all skill levels. If you are not taking a workshop, the marketplace and demonstrations run all day and are free to visit.
Sunday adds two half-day spinning workshops for advanced beginners and up: Spin Long Draw and Spin Flax on a Wheel. Bring your own wheel if you have one, and check the ticket page for what each workshop supplies.
