Handmade, up-cycled Cropped Raglan Quilt Jacket Size S/M

Big Pockets, with a cozy oversized fit. Fits sizes small to medium best, but could fit a large as well. Handmade by me from a damaged vintage butterfly/flower motif quilt that I tie-dyed.

This listing is for a women's jacket made by me from a vintage quilt that had butterfly and floral motifs. I tie dyed the quilt with orange and fuchsia toned procion dyes. I used a few different colors of contrasting cotton/poly blend binding on the pockets and sleeves.

Please view all of the pictures for condition details, and note that colors may be slightly different on your screen than in real life. By nature, older fabrics like vintage quilts will often have slight stains, thinning fabric or slight tears. I go to great lengths to clean, repair, and patch all fabrics that I work with, and will document any of these issues to the best of my ability in the listing photos.

SIZING:

Fits sizes small - medium best, but could fit up to a large more snugly.

Oversized fit, raglan sleeves with an open front

Please see photos for measurements. Model in the last photo is 5’2”, wearing a quilt coat made from the same pattern (though the collar is a little different on this one).

FABRIC CARE

As with all vintage quilts, they can be delicate and should be handled with care, and the same goes for items made from them like this jacket. Due to the nature of aging fabrics I recommend either individually washing this item by hand, or taking it to an eco-friendly drycleaner. Because of the delicate nature of these quilts, I am not responsible for any damages that occur after purchase, and don't guarantee any particular method of laundering.

Your item will arrive clean and fresh as I have thoroughly washed and dried all the items I work with prior to shipping them to you with non-toxic, low-scent detergent. Please note that I live and work from a home with pets.

MY PROCESS

I up-cycle damaged/stained quilts because I think it's so beautiful to save these textiles and give them new life! Each article of clothing I make ends up being completely unique - even two items made from the same quilt. I do my best to showcase the best parts of each quilt while avoiding damaged areas as much as possible. As a result, your new jacket will be a completely unique, one of a kind article that you can wear and love for years to come.
